Charles CsuriOrdo

Created in 2017, Ordo is an artist-curated generative series that remained unreleased on Csuri’s computer during his lifetime.

This October, nearly a decade later, it finally enters the world.

Ordo brings together ideas and techniques refined over the years - including his proprietary Ribbon tool, developed in the late 1980s, which let him draw directly in three-dimensional space.

Luminous ribbons twist, overlap and unfold through fields of colour and light, distilling Csuri’s lifelong exploration of movement, transparency and virtual space. A painter and sculptor who began working with computers in the 1960s, he helped define what computer art could be. Ordo draws together key elements of a practice spanning seven decades.
